Privacy Policy
ScorinGolf (“the App”) is a mobile golf scoring application developed by Daniel Shkembi. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
The short version
The App is offline-first and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Everything you enter — courses, rounds, scores, player names, side-game results — lives only on your device. There are no user accounts, no login, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
What data the App stores
All scoring data is saved in a local SQLite database on your device:
- Courses and tee data you create or import
- Rounds, holes, and per-hole strokes
- Player names you enter for a round
- Side-game state (Skins, Nassau, Wolf, Stableford, Bingo Bango Bongo, Snake, Scotch, Rabbit)
- App settings
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it (for example, exporting a round as a CSV or PDF and sending it through your device’s share sheet).
If you uninstall the App, this data is removed from your device by your operating system.
Course search (optional)
The App can search for course scorecards using a third-party API provided by GolfCourseAPI. This feature is off by default and only runs if you supply your own API key in the App’s settings. When enabled:
- Search queries you type are sent to GolfCourseAPI to look up courses.
- GolfCourseAPI’s privacy and data-handling practices are governed by their own policy on their website.
- We do not send your name, location, scores, or any other personal data to GolfCourseAPI — only the course search text you type.
If you do not enter an API key, the App never contacts GolfCourseAPI or any other network service.
What we don’t do
- We do not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data.
- We do not show advertisements.
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your scoring data to anyone.
- We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, location, or any other system permission outside of basic local file access used for CSV/PDF export.
- The App does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
Children’s privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a future version of the App, the updated policy will be available at this URL. The “Last updated” date above will change.
